Product Description

A tiny newborn baby is abandoned in the toilets of a Yorkshire hospital. At the same time, the Trans-Pennine commuter train is halted by a suicidal jumper are they connected? From this moment on, the lives of those on board the train and in the hospital will be changed irrevocably, not least for DC Laurie Franklin (Suranne Jones Scott & Bailey, Coronation Street, Strickly Confidential ), off-duty that day but travelling on the train with her mum, Jen (Anne Reid Shameless, Bleak House), who has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Laurie likes tying up loose ends. And, if she can prove a connection between the body and the baby, she will be happy. But things never turn out quite the way we expect. Who is the baby's mother? And who is the jumper? And was it a suicide or was it really a murder? As Laurie is drawn deeper into the mystery, she realises this might not be a simple case at all, but something much darker. Her life becomes even more complicated when she falls for one of her work colleagues David Morrissey (South Ridings, UB dead, Doctor Who) who is a hard nosed Detective with a strong will. This classic BBC drama was original shown over five consecutive nights and captivated millions of viewers. With a pedigree support cast including Bernard Hill (5 Days, Lord of the Rings) and Hugo Speer (The Full Monty, 5 Days) this is BBC drama at it s very best.

Great drama 3 Dec 2011
Format:DVD
After watching the first series of Five Days, I was keen to buy this DVD. Im a great fan of Suranne Jones having seen her in Unforgiven and Scott & Bailey. It was a really good drama with a fair amount of good British actors however I felt the last episode let the series down. It was quite flat and was a bit of a disappointment. However if another series comes out, I would still be keen on seeing it.

Saw series 1 on DVD so purposely didnt watch it on TV but got the DVD instead. All concentration needed here but once again a fantastic series - all about the people again - love these shows - great acting, great storyline to actually challenge the grey cells a little - its a grown up, serious Brit version of 24 I say! Bring on the next series!

Five wasted Days. 25 Dec 2011
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Not much to say about this one. I watched an episode every evening thinking it was going to get better, but it just went from bad to worse. When it finally finished, I thought, what was all that about?

What a disappointment
I watched and was enthralled with Five Days series one. My anticipation of enjoying the second series came to an abrupt halt when watching the first disc. Read more

Probably one of the worst series I've seen.Drags on and in the end you don't care who did it...despite some well known actors in it.

Where are the subtitles?
As someone who is hard of hearing I found it almost unbelievable in this day and age that there were no subtitles with this product. Nothing was said on the website about this. Read more

Unintelligible to us in the colonies
This mini-series features some strong acting and good production values, but verges too frequently on soap-opera and overly repetitive character development. Read more
