4.0 out of 5 stars Great Content, But a little plodding., 5 Dec 1999
I had heard a bit about this book froma few websites about books on film, and by all accounts it was something to get. When you see the awesome statments such as 'one of the three most important books on the subject' it fils you with both anxiety to read it but also a sense of it never living up to the hype.

Anyway...it is a good book, well wotrht the measly £15 you'll spend on it, but since it was written in a different era of cinema it just seems a little obvious. Having said that it does deal with the standard cinematic procedures, the ones that you MUST know. You need to read it if you are nterested in film or particularly cinematography.
