Product Description

Product Description

The Sankey 150-litre beehive butt is an easy way to collect, store and dispense rainwater from your roof. Garden watering can account for as much as 70 per cent of water used in hot conditions, but by taking a few and easy practical steps--such as using a water butt like this--it is easy to save water by collecting rain water and storing it to help the hose pipe bans. A water butt is also a great way to help you save money on your water bills.

This water butt is designed to look like it’s made of ceramic, making it an attractive feature in any garden. It has a low-carbon footprint as it is made from 100 per cent recycled materials, of which a minimum is 75 per cent post-consumer waste, and is manufactured in the United Kingdom in accordance with strict quality control standards. This water butt fits on both the Sankey premier and standard water butt stands and is compatible with the Sankey water diverter kit, sold separately, which channels water from your gutter downpipe to the butt.

This is a handsome beast as far as water butts go; they are not usually known for their good looks but this one certainly has them -it has been much admired as it stands by my front door. I would have given this item 5 stars except that, once full, the tap leaked. I was given a 15% refund, which I thought was fair.

The butt was easy to connect up but I think, for the price, the connection kit should have been included. I also thought the stand was pricey so mine rests on some terracotta bricks which I was given. Apart from this I am very happy with the water butt.

After a lot of web surfing I finally settled for this water butt. Although it is not made of terracota it looks pretty realistic. I havent used it for long so I cant say if it will leak in a few weeks - only time will tell!

Just received this water butt and it looks great. Just like terracotta but is in fact very light plastic. I am not much of a gardener so wasnt sure what size I would need or how big it would be and this is smaller than I expected. If choosing again I would go for a bigger water butt as I was hoping to connect it to a sprinkler to water the grass in the summer but I dont think there will be enough water stored to do that (from appearance) as regular as I hoped (but thats my own fault for not realising that!).

I ordered one of these previously through my Gardners World magazine and I really liked it. This was before we had all the rain but I decided to replace an old water butt with another. I ordered through Amazon as this one was very competitive in price and obviously delivered to your door. It really looks lovely in my cottage garden and blends in well with everything. If you have small children though be careful because the tops are reasonably easy to remove. In one of mine I have cut out a circle for a shed downpipe so they are very versatile. Also consider buying the stand for the Waterbutt, I have one on one of mine and it finishes it all off nicely.

although a little pricey it does the job and looks great on my patio area. lid is just softish plastic so doesnt support a plant I wanted to put on top but would defiately recommend this product for a waterbutt thats functional but attractive.

Very stylish and excellent for collecting the rain. If you turn the lid upside down you can put plants in. Looks like real terracotta

I am pleased with this item. Easy to install in situ. The tap works well and so looking forward to using it next summer.
