Book Description

21 Nov 2002 Strangest Series
Fishing's Strangest Tales gathers together choice stories and bizarre fishing tales from all over the world. Consider the Oxford scientist who in 1910 discovered the marvellous life-giving properties of brandy to fish who had otherwise gasped their last. Or how about the nine-year-old boy fishing for trout who caught a large mussel - containing no less than forty pearls - and managed to earn more in one day than his father, a farm worker, had earned in the last five years. Fishing's Strangest Days is full of fascinating tales that may sound fishy and unbelievable but will have have you caught hook, line and sinker. Word count: 45,000

5.0 out of 5 stars An interesting collection of angling stories. 2 Jan 2011
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
A nice collection of varied stories including one about two policemen who went to dig up wasp's nests to collect larvae for bait and were trapped in a mud slide, with only their heads above the surface, and stung to death by whe wasps. Well worth a read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Interesting Stories 27 Mar 2011
Format:Paperback
If you enjoy unusual stories or you are just a plain fishing fanatic you will like this book. Many of the stories have an amusing twist to them whilst others are rather amazing accounts of peoples experiences of wherever they happened to be fishing at the time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Buy! 14 Feb 2012

I got this product as a gift for my Granda who is very much into fishing and he totally loved it. It is made up of short stories and he said it was very interesting and made for easy reading. He has recommended it to other fishermen friends and has not stopped bragging about it. He could not put it down but he said it was great that you didn't need to get to the end of a chapter before you could put it down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice present for myself 26 July 2012
By Henry.B
Format:Paperback
I bought Fishing's Strangest Days for... myself, as I am a passionate fisherman myself. The collection is very interesting and totally worth reading! I will certainly reread it in a year or so! It's especially a nice read after a day of fishing, when you come home, cook the fish and enjoy a nice evening in front of the fire, reading some amuzing/thirlling/fantastic stories!
