Lesley Crawford is an expert lady fly fisher who fishes the lochs of Scotland for wild brown trout. This is an excellent guide to places for holiday anglers, giving the best access places, the types of fishery, the best flies and all the information which anyone might need. Mrs. Crawford is a first class photographer and the scenes depicted do justice to the magnificent landscape of the lochs she describes. She also visits and fishes in the places she describes so has first hand knowledge of them. The book is highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Trout Ethos 28 Oct 2003
Format:Hardcover
Anyone who has forgotten - or never learned - what trout fishing is really about will benefit from this book. Seeking wild trout in wild places is Lesley Crawford's subject and she is as good as anyone in stating just where the satisfaction lies (nothing to do with limit catches or expensive beats, little to do with elaborate gear or the latest lures). She writes without fuss or exaggeration, with a nice accuracy and an implicit poetry.
Be warned - you will become instantly discontented with the factory-reared rainbow trout in your local muddy pond and long for even a blank day in the far north.
