'Fishing on the Front Line' is one of the most unusual books I have read in years but it is an excellent read. The author, a serving army officer, takes his fishing tackle on numerous military operations around the world. The book describes both the fishing and the military operations.The contrast between the tranquility of fishing and the horrors of war is stark and this is the great attraction of the book. 'Fishing on the Front Line' would make a brilliant gift and I thoroughly recommend it.
