When i started looking for lenses, I had no idea what i was looking for, with prices and the build qualities and so on. And when it comes to deciding which one to buy, going to the review section may give a much more personal idea towards the product. So this lens, for £40, is just superb. I didn't know what to expect, with it being a risk of being a non named product, and one at this low price, so with that i thought that i would take the risk. Even though the pictures that had been uploaded from it weren't too great. But really the image quality, if you aren't stupid and can take a photo, is actually really good.

It has a superb view range, where when it is fully zoomed out, it completes a full sphere. If the lens is not used, the view will be say, from the top of a door frame, to mid door/ the handle. But with this lens on, you can see the roof, the floor, things around you, maybe even you taking the photo. That's how much range the lens get's.
I am an amateur photographer, using a Canon 1000D, on my standard 18-55 lens, this lens is great. It's just what i was looking for.

I can not fault this lens at all, the build quality is so good, It's a little heavy, but you expect that from any lens attachment.

I would fully recommend this to anyone! Will be using this lens a lot.

Hi everyone...
well,Since a proper fisheye lens is hard to find under 300 and I didn't have that money, this is a good compromise....If you're not pro-photographers this is fine, it is great for a few pictures...
It is well constructed, metal, non plastic...it won't affect you camera autofocusing since it doesn't weight too much...
The quality of the image is not perfect but it much better than a lot of other lenses like this one...cropping the picture at a 2x rate will eliminate most of the vignetting effect...on the border of the image colors and details are not great but it is ok...
The screw mount is a 58mm with the macro adapter mounted, 51mm without it but without it it won't focus...maybe on DSLRs...on a video-camcorder it may work anyway!
I'm happy with it since I'll use only for fun on a few shots...depends from what you're looking for!

After reading loads of reviews, looking on youtube deciced to go for this little beauty!! So glad i did..for the price faultless, but just remember "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR" in saying that the build quality is spot on, very solid quite heavy and looks very well made!! the picture quality is quite good as well (obviously not as good as a £300+ dedicated fish eye)giving the effect i was after..I will be using this quite a lot i think!! Very happy with my purchase which arrived within 48 hours of ordering..if you have any doubts, take my word for it...for under 40 quid, snapp it up!!!

the lens arrived quickly (1 working day) works great but i did have a bit of trouble attaching to my 58 mm zoom lens (canon 20d) but it went on good in the end it is quite heavy but i dont mind that much but it is very well built strong and will survive being dropped easily the quality is quite good as my first fish eye and wide angle lens but the wide angle ness is staggering it is very very wide andgled and a good quality fish eye effect too very good for the price and perfect for beginners to intermediates :D

I bought this lens as a bit of fun to see what effects I could get with it. For a cheep'n'cheerful lens the build quality is good, although potential purchasers should remember that it is quite a big lump of glass and therefore heavy. If you have a smaller camera you need to make sure you adequately support the lens. Picture quality is good, especially in bright light: with any extra lens elements each one reduces the light passing through to eventually reach the sensor.

Really good value for money, my favourite lens, I use it with both my slr and miniDV cameras. One downside is you will need to invest in a flashgun if you are intent on using the flash in images, otherwise the lens leaves an annoying shadow, but this is the same with most wide-angle convertors.

For less than £40 this fish eye lens is a real bargain. I bought it because of comments here about solid metal construction and good image quality. How people can complain about the build quality is beyond me. The body is an alloy casting, beautifully finished and powder coated, with everything screwed together in micrometer fashion. Even the adapter ring is a nicely made in metal. The lenses are crystal clear and I was pleased to find both front and rear protective caps in addition to the carry case. (It seems some people here did not receive one or both of these caps). This robustly made lens attachment reminds me of the Russian military binoculars I bought years ago- and very fine they were and still are. As if to prove the point, the first thing I did was to accidentally drop it- pain to my foot but no other damage done!

To fit this fisheye to the 18- 55 zoom lens on my Nikon 5100 I have to use the adapter ring- this is fine, though the adapter is very slender and a bit fiddly to screw on and off: this item has to be removed before the end cap can be fitted- it would have been better if the latter fitted over the wide diameter of the ring. With all that glass and metal this is quite a heafty item weighing 268 grms, so I was somewhat concerned that it might strain the Nikon autofocus motor, though it does not seem to bother it.

I'm no great photographer so doubtless I'm less critical than some, but I can see very little edge distortion and I was very surprised how bright and, especially, sharp the images are, despite the additional thickness of glass the light has to pass through. Setting the Nikon lens to 18mm the image is a complete circle and even at 35mm the visible panarama seems to be more than 150 degrees- you then have a 'fish eye' effect but not an extreme one.
