This soother has allowed my son (who'll be two next week) to break the habit of waking to see me at night, and he now regularly sleeps through the night, whereas before it was all too rare! The toy itself is attractive and the music quality is good, but I can't use the light and movement settings at night as the light is so bright it disturbs my son even more. I'll let him have the lights on as he's going to sleep in the evening, but for me the most important function is the gentle music which turns itself off. In music-only mode, the music will play for 18 minutes, but with all the action and lights on, it goes off after six minutes. I'd held off buying such a prop for a long time, but now I'd recommend this toy (or maybe just gentle music!) to anyone whose child has problems sleeping.

Originally bought this for our newborn but our 2 year old took an immediate liking to it. He was never a good sleeper but he hasn't cried at night for over 2 months since we've had this by his bed. If he wakes at night he simply presses the button which dimly lights up the room and plays soft music which helps him get back to sleep. In fact sometimes we can hear him singing along to it at the middle of the night.
I would have given this a 1 star if it was for my newborn because it doesn't soothe him at all but then again, not much does!

My daughter has had this since she was born and she absolutely adores it. The soothing sounds and comforting orange glow are enough to send me off to sleep! What was great is that my daughter didnt rely on having to have it on everynight and its more background noise than a soother. My daughter is 11 months now and she has figured how to switch it on/off (which she does regularly) and i find that it does calm her down. I would recommend this product to anyone and its price has not changed since us buying over a year ago truly showing you what a quality item this is!
