My son loves all things related to helicopters, and this new toy is a big hit with him.
It's very chunkily built, and is very playable: the payload is very large for figures to sit in; it features a working winch; there is a trigger at the back of the helicopter which makes the rotors (and tail rotors) work. The front third is a pretty convincing copy of the front of a Sea King.
We haven't had it long, but I have no reason to think that it won't last for ages.

I bought this for my (then) 4 year old son last Christmas. It was very successful and now he and his younger brother (2.5 years old) still play with it and the accompanying men constantly. I have just ordered more imaginext toys for them both. However, we were less impressed with the space shuttle so beware.
The helicopter is substantial and chunky without being cumbersome. It is easy to get the men in and out and even my youngest son can operate the trigger which causes the propeller blades to rotate. It has a winch which retracts automatically when the button is pressed and this has been the most popular feature.
If this is the first imaginext toy you have bought then look out for additional men etc in your local supermarket. I have picked up lots of these very cheaply. The helmets and accessories are all interchangeable so you soon have quite a cast of characters.
I definitely recommend this for any boy ages from 2 to probably 7.
