within 24 hours our 12 month old was running across the room with this, he loves it! and within a week he walked on his own and we put it down to this toy. he progressed so quickly from the day he got it.
bargain price here too, its twice the price in all the shops.

I brought the Fisher Price lion for my daughter when she was 8 months old (a couple of weeks before she was crawling).

The lion works in 2 ways - as a ride-on and a walker.

To use the ride-on the child just sits on and pushes themselves along with their feet. To use the walker there is a catch on the back of the lion, pull the catch out, lift the seat up and clip it into place and it's all done! This is a job for the adults.

Before my daughter could walk and crawl she just enjoyed sitting on it (with supervision) and dancing to the music but when she started toddling she got the most out of it and starting pushing it around, then getting on and off herself and cruising around the house.

The lion is a handsome little chap and has big ears to hold on to. One of the best parts of the lion is his music. Press his big purple nose and he starts playing music and roaring whilst flashing his nose. This is very cute but can get a little tedious after a while (especially as it goes off almost every time he is touched) so I was grateful that it has 2 volume settings... and an off switch!

The disadvantages are that the tranistion from crawling to walking was very quick with my daughter, so she didn't get as much use out of the walker as she did the ride-on. Also the ride-on can be a little awkward to ride on certain types of carpets and the walker can be TOO easy to use on laminated/wooden flooring.

The lion itself is a good size (suitable height and chunky) and is well packaged. The lion is all set up and ready to go, except for the the wheels which are really easy to fix on. The lion takes 4 AA batteries which are included. Batteries last a long time too - ours are still going strong over 2 years later!

I liked the idea of having a ride-on and walker in one, as it meant I didn't have to pay twice as much and it also saved abit of space around the house.

This is something I'd be happy to recommend.

My husband and I bought this for our one-year-old as he was walking around the sofa. It took him about 5 minutes to get used to it and then was walking, with great confidence, from one side of the room to the other with it, stopping every so often to hit the lion's nose to make him roar or to applaud himself! After a week of having this walker, he took an unaided step. He absolutely loves the cheerful music and the textured mane and, when he's bigger, this will be a lovely ride-on that will last him until he's well over two.

The reason it dropped a star is because, in my opinion, it could have had some more activities around the front instead of just a button nose and two little plastic bugs on very short runners on either side of the lion's face which really don't serve any purpose at all. However, for what it is, it's excellent.

Bought this for my daughter and its lasted us over a year. She loves the music and pressing the lions nose. She happily dances along pushing it as she walks and now it's used as a ride on. The music plays when the walker walks and when nose is pressed. It's helped her to learn about animals and facial features. My other two walkers were not as durable and sturdy as this. Even I couldn't tip it over so unsure what previous person meant. Fab toy !

I bought this for my one year old twins they loved the lion but one major flaw they are both too tall to be able to use it as a baby walker. They aren't huge by any means but my daughter has to bend over to use it and ends up falling over, it is a great shame as they have been cruising for a month and I hoped that this would help them to walk, instead they just use it as a seat most of the time!

I think the idea to combine walker and a ride on toy is excellent however I have to be critical as when used as a walker it is only suitable for short children. My kids were both tall and it was impossible to use it as a walker. Only as a ride on toy. Otherwise a nice toy but overprices for what it is.

We bought this item initially as a means of encouraging our granddaughter to walk, liking the idea that as she grew she would be able to ride on it. She absolutely loves it and never tires of walking with it. Within days of using it she has now started to walk unaided.

This item taught both of my sons to walk and they used and still use this nearly every day.
I've had it for over 2 years and STILL haven't had to change the battery.

Very durable for in doors although have never taken it outside.

This was built to last.
