The top opens, the mouth opens, it makes a noise/tune when you push down on the top (cycles through a few different ones, the firm favourite being the crocodile roar)

This was good as my 1yr old (ish) son learnt about putting things in boxes, the fact that you could then take them out of the mouth caused some confusion for quite a while, but ultimatly he learnt more because it did that.

he's 2 now and it's collecting serious dust, so a set of cubes, or boxes that have a lid will probably have more longevity.

He definitly learnt to recognise a crocodile fairly early on!!

Usage probably improved it you buy more stacking blocks, and a good intro to the FP stacking blocks.

Just bought this in a charity shop for £2.99. There were no batteries in it, but I thought I'd take a chance. The entertainment value so limited that I looked it up on here to see if there was anything missing or wrong with my 2nd hand one, but no, it works perfectly. I'm very grateful I only paid £3 to find out that sometimes this brand isn't all it's cracked up to be!

Cute little crocodile. 3 Oct. 2009

We are peek a freaks and love this little crocodile. My son mostly likes the noises it makes, but is just in the last few months figuring out how to stack the blocks on the crocodiles back. He was about 6 months when he got this and learned very fast how to make the crocodile make noises, and how to open his back to get to the blocks stored inside.

My 8 month old son loves this toy. He hasn't yet learned to stack the toys or put them inside the croc....but he loves the sounds it makes and he loves to open and close the lid. And he loves to watch me put the blocks inside. Soooo cute!

My 1 year old daughter loves this toy. When you open the crocodile's mouth it makes music or growls. She loves the sounds and loves to put the blocks in and out of his mouth. Highly recommend this toy!

It's alright 11 Jan. 2010

This toy is currently going for $85 on amazon. Waaaay too much. FP's own website says $29.99. Probably still too much.

This toy basically makes some noise when the mouth opens or the back opens. It comes with these blocks which are kind of awkward b/c they don't stay stacked together well.

Its got a few good things going for it.
Positives:
Little hands can stack the blocks well b/c they latch easily (just don't stay that way)
It makes sound
It has storage for the blocks - but only 4 of them - actually that's probably just the right number for this age group. I wouldn't buy more. If your kid needs more then it's lego time.

Negatives:
This toy is just plain weird. Why a crocodile? Why would a crocodile want blocks stacked on it? Why doe a crocodile's back open up? Nothing about this makes any real world sense.
The little blocks have little things inside them. That's kind of neat but the age range this is intended for probably won't even notice it. It's a detail on a toy when infant/toddlers are looking at big concepts.
So its kind of a novel toy, but 30 bucks? If i'm going to spend that kind of money it had better be an AWESOME toy. Frankly this toy annoys me just for the space it takes up - there are so many OTHER toys out there that are better.
The noise - the little crocodile noises are kind of cute, but i kind of hate the sound of the blocks inside the crocodile when they are stored. Kind of like "clunkety clunk clunk" really loud. I dread touching this thing if my son is asleep.
The blocks fit inside, but they don't lock inside. If the toy tips over, the blocks go everywhere. If you were planning on throwing this in a toybox forget it. It needs to be stored on a shelf. That in itself is a bummer.

Yeah, it gets good marks from a kids perspective, but as the parent i kind of don't really like it a lot.

If I saw it at a garage sale I might get it, if it was $5 or less.
