Funny and original 27 April 1999

There seems to be a touch of personal animosity in the first review here. I couldn't disagree more. Knowing and caring nothing about James Delingpole's career as a critic, I read the book purely on its merits and found it delightful. Funny, original and well worth the read. I will never forget the description of "Morgues".

I thoroughtly enjoyed this book, really not sure what the first reviewer is on about. Perhaps I also was saved by not knowing the author at all.

Written in 1997, then this [...]s in 1999 ... coincidence? I suspect this book won't seem so funny for somebody reading it for the first time today: in the same way that TV Go Home doesn't seem nearly so funny now, because - for instance- Big Fat Gyspy Wedding is an actual program, that no-body had the good sense NOT to make ...
