I've recently had a considerable bacterial bloom problem in my 240 litre coldwater tank. Water quality was fine and water changes didn't help. This product has very nearly cleared the problem in under 24 hours from installation. I cannot find fault at this price. If your going to buy, go for the 24 watt rather than the 7 watt. The price difference is minimal and the result will speak for itself.

Had a algae bloom in my 240 ltr tropical tank. Water was fine and in limits with all tests. Followed advice and did 25% water changes daily and problem started to clear but soon as I stopped the water changes the tank turned green within days. Did resort to using "Green Away" which worked to clear the water in a couple of hours but only to have it turn green again. Got that bad could not even see the plants in the tank and only saw the fish when against the glass. Bought this sterilizer and fitted into tank. Clear easy to follow instructions made it simple. Within 48 hours my tank now has crystal clear water and without the need for chemicals.Would definately recommend this to any one.

Had problems from the start. The only way to know if the lamp is on is if the LED light is on. On first one we got, the LED wasn't lit so we sent it back and eventually got a replacement. The new LED did work, however, a month later we noticed the light was off.
No idea if the lamp is still on and to be honest, do not really want to go through all the hassle again with the shop.
Our fish tank water was green so we turned the aquarium lights off and ordered this product.It took so long for the first lamp to arrive and then be replaced that by then the water had cleared.
So, if anyone has problems with green water, I would suggest turning the lights off and waiting for a month to see if it clears on it's own. (a lot cheaper and saves on electricity!)We now have the aquarium lights on for a couple of hours a day and so far so good.
Putting this purchase down to experience!
