Format: Paperback
I found this book helpful in building vocabulary. The quality of the drawings is excellent and the colourful pages make a nice change to the usual b&w language books.

Please note that this book is based on Portuguese from Portugal, so a small number of words are different to those used in Brazil.

Aimed at children but I consider it to be an excellent book for adults when used in addition to the usual dictionaries, grammar and phrase books. The drawings are simple and bold, many are humourous. Smile at the chaos in the kitchen and the antics in the garden. The same pictures are used with their other language books - with changed vocabulary. Link to the internet to hear pronunciation.

Format: Paperback
This a great book for teaching kids (and older kids alike) everyday portuguese words. With a 'Where's Wally' kind of feel it really does make it a lot more fun as you search the duck and other objects on each page. Only one warning however this book is in European Portuguese and not Brazilian Portuguese, so if your learning Brazilian Portuguese you will need to go through and change some of the words.

A really lovely colourful book, which corresponds to the English one, making it very easy to use. Useful for adults as well as great entertainment for children with a duck to find on every page.

Does what it claims.

I found the guide to pronunciation helpful.

Actually I cannot fault this book. Perfect for children or adults learning a foreign language.

My tip for learning to read languages is to try to obtain a children's encyclopaedia, which in Portuguese is not so easy.

One can even sometimes obtain an English children's encyclopaedia (e,g, Dorling Kindersley) which has been produced in another language. That can be really helpful for language learning.
