This is a useful and up-to-date book for anyone preparing to start a private podiatry service that is more likely to be effective and organised from the outset. It is well structured and easy to read.
There are step by step (excuse the pun) ideas on practical aspects of getting started, marketing effectively and ensuring taxation and national insurance contributions are paid up, etc.
In my personal opinion, despite podiatry being a well-established profession often the initial education system seems to equip people more with clinical skills and less with business and managerial skills. With the economic down turn, more people may be attracted to running their own practices and this book is a very useful guide to getting started. Equally if you have been running a practice and want to review how you are doing, this book may help you identify areas you may wish to improve on.
