By sam155 TOP 1000 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Edition:Bundle|Amazon Vine™ Review (What's this?)
Fun:
I have a four year old son who is very noisy and already enjoys using some of the games on our Wii such as Wii Sports Resort and the balance/fun games on Wii Fit Plus.

I was pleased to receive this game although I had misgivings since his reading is only rudimentary at this stage and I thought it would be like karaoke. However, once we figured it all out and got the mic working, there was no stopping him. He knew most by heart and there are actions too. We tried the duet mode, although he preferred solo and he knew almost all of the songs (from school, nursery and me). He did point out that "The Farmer's in His Dell" should be "The Farmer's in His Den", but then he is going through a pedantic stage.

The graphics are good, but at only twenty songs I did worry he would soon get bored. Its hard to imagine that at the moment though as it is his current favourite activity. I didn't think it was brilliant value to be honest, with only 20 songs. That's technically only about an hour of entertainment. However, children do love repetition.

Its nicely boxed up with the mic included and would be easy to wrap as a Christmas gift. If you've already got SingStar Disney or similar, I would probably skip this, but if you haven't, this has better graphics so would be a good buy. Its also educational as its helps reading and has the ABC song etc.

Fun!! 8 Dec 2010
By Clare TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Edition:Bundle|Amazon Vine™ Review (What's this?)
Fun:
I really liked this game. It has lovely cartoons for the kids to watch as they sing along to popular nursery rhymes. They can watch and sing along without the microphone or with it. There are 20 songs to choose from and you can set whether the lyrics/vocals are on the tracks as you play. You can either do solo or duet mode. I only have 1 mic so I have only tried the solo mode but it was great fun. I did find that we're all going on a summer holiday was hard for me so for younger children I don't think this song is really the best choice for the game but the words for all the songs come included in the booklet so chances are you could teach them it if you played for long enough.

Your score is based on you singing to the tune not the actual correct words as I made up my own words to twinkle twinkle but carried on singing to the tune and still scored over 85%

My one bug bear with this is that the singing is American, that means that when you sing the ABC song it has the wrong pronounciation of Z.

I think this is a great intro to singing for younger children and although 20 songs aren't that many they are mostly firm favourites that children will already know and love to sing over and over.

I would recommend this as a singing game for young children.

Good fun! 18 Dec 2010

Fun:
I thought my four year old son would find this a little "babyish" what with the nursery rhymes and at first he was a little reluctant to have a go but after a while he loved it and grabbed the microphone and sung the nursery rhymes with gutso accompanied on backing vocals by yours truly. Shame there is only a limited number of tracks and although that doesn't matter for the first couple of times I feel it does stop you wanting to play it again.

Apart from that little gripe, this is a really fun game and is recommended.
