I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I love books with an animal interest, so I picked this one up when it was offered for free. I am so glad that I did! There is a murder in the barns at an Arabian horse show, and Ellen stumbles over the body. Her daughter is working a summer job at a horse farm, and Ellen is more concerned with her daughter's safety, but is curious about who would murder the groom. Since she is dating the chief of police, and her daughter seems to be in the thick of things, Ellen ends up in the middle as well.
I loved that the heroine didn't just immediately jump in and start solving all the puzzles. She was more concerned with the safety of her daughter, and the murder was just something to think about. To me, the horse show aspect was much more interesting than the mystery itself....but that's just me!
I kind of figured out who the bad guy was, but was still surprised with the ending. Which to me, makes the best kind of mystery! I would highly recommend this book, and am going to pick up the rest of the books in this series!
