adored the build up and even i began to wonder where he got all his socks from!!!
for a fun gentle romance i highly recommend this book

This is a very short story, I read it in under half an hour, think maybe it should be put together with #2 & 3 at a higher price then it would feel like more value for money. That said it was a lovely story and a good introduction to the authors writing style, I am now looking into purchasing some of her longer works

I RECEIVED THIS BOOK AS FREE REVIEWING COPY FROM THE AUTHOR.

This short story was a very pleasant bright spot amongst many shorts and shortish novellas that I have read lately. I really really enjoyed how the writer gave a purpose to every word in the story, every word, every sentence meant something. I thought that I learned more about the characters than I have learned from some much longer stories. I thought that in such short page space the writer showed how the artist feels and thinks and I felt that his profession reflected exactly who Jez was as a character and thats something I find often lacking in mm stories. Of course we learned less about Steven, but it IS a short after all and he was not a POV character and it was really fun to see how first impressions change into real facts later on. Really fun story - very bright I guess, the colours assault you from the very first sentences and it is just awesome.

I have previously read a few of Josephine Myles story's (my favorite being The Hot Floor) with mixed results, but this short novella ranks right up at the top. I enjoyed reading the slow evolution of Steve from a boring, nondescript office worker with funky socks in the beginning to an intriguing man Jez couldn't help but draw. And once they began talking, it was fun seeing the many ways the reality of Steve turned Jez's assumptions on their head.

A great short read worth the .99 cent price.

This is a cute story, but after a lengthy "courtship," the relationship moved too fast for me.

Review
This story is a fun idea and the characters are loveable, but everything felt underdeveloped. I would have liked to have seen more interaction between the main characters instead of so much happening solely in Jez's head. I realize due to the type of narrative, that's going to happen, but the jump in time kept me from really getting to see a relationship develop. It's hard to understand why these two men are together.

The visual descriptions, character interaction, and general storytelling were great, I just wanted more depth.
