Book Description

A nun with a sectarian past and an out-of-work actress inappropriately named Cash Ryan uncover a Christian cult dealing in illegal adoptions

Product Description

Young, commercial women's fiction. Fast, funny, furious comedy crime set in Dublin Cash Ryan's life is a mess. A property developer has made her homeless, her boyfriend has decided to lead the celibate life, and her big acting break in a TV soap has just fizzled out like a damp squib. She gets sympathy and support from Mort Higgins, private investigator, friend and part time employer, but is devastated one morning to find him dead at his desk with a gun shot wound to his head. The police declare it a suicide, but Cash and Mort's widow Janet think differently. Along with Cash's friend Billie, they embark on a journey to discover the truth. On the way they encounter a healing evangelist, a renegade biker nun, an illegal adoption scam, a host of Hell's Angels, a few close shaves and plenty of dirty dealing. Maggie Gibson manages to write about suicide, murder, drugs and corrupt policemen with a lightness of touch that makes it a fast, gripping and highly entertaining story where the villains get their come-uppances. The central female characters are feisty and hard-nosed, the dialogue witty and the energy high.

Enjoyed this story, the nun who's past was a bit coulorful and Cash the main character was like a dog with a bone once her suspicion was aroused. Very entertaining and well worth reading. I have now ordered this authors first book and cant wait to start reading it.

Cash Ryan is down on her luck and this leads to all sorts of goings on after her employer is found dead. The story gets going immediately and is a real page turner. The plot links all the characters and brings them together for an explosive finale! Definitely worth reading.
