Product Description

Carrie Lang’s sheltered life ends with a prison sentence for involvement in a bank robbery. Her arrest comes on the day she’s called in sick and stayed inside, so she can’t explain how an eye-witness describes her in great detail, down to the make and model of her car.

A terrible mistake has been made, and her insistence of innocence falls on deaf ears. Even her fellow inmates don’t believe her as it’s a claim they all make. Alone in the world, she has no one to turn to for help, and not a single soul to campaign for her freedom…at least until she makes a valuable friend.

In the meantime, a plan for retribution is brewing, and naïve Carrie finds herself smack dab in the middle of an evil scheme concocted by the prison bully. A ten year sentence seems mild when she’s threatened with death for refusing to participate. Can Carrie find a way out of this horrible nightmare, or is she destined to spend her days locked in terror, isolation, and the cold gray interior of prison walls?

Rivetting stuff 18 Feb 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I just read this book and really enjoyed it. It's the first I've read of this author, but I'll be looking to read more of her novels in the future. The life behind bars that she portrays is gruelling without being too graphic. It's easy to sympathise with Carrie, and as each page turned I was rooting for her release. The hero is just 'somewhere in the background'-ready and waiting for her to be released. The reader doesn't get to know him very well, though Ginger Simpson gives enough of him to know he's going to be a great guy for her when she's free. I think anything else would have been unrealistic. The words flow off the page and the secondary characters are well portrayed too. Not having read any other prison novels I have nothing to compare with, but the details seem to be well researched.

Mediocre 30 April 2012

I did read this book all the way through but I found the romantic part of the story very far fetched and unbelieveable. It was just a very average story, nothing to shout about.

A reasonable read, not a great deal of substance and containing an obvious ending. Nevertheless on the whole I foumd it pleasant. Like a previous reviewer I would have given it three stars but being a free book it got four!
