This disc would be perfect if they hadn't decided to reorder the tracks to "band preference", and in the process, faded the end of 'Tokyo Rose' so that the end is botched as far as the gapless last 3 tracks found on the vinyl go. I put the tracks back in the original positions, "unfading" the altered track as best as possible, and came close to restoring the end as it was and should be for the vinyl owners.
I suppose "the band" can and did have it their way in the end, but the fans count, too. You don't come back after 36 years and decide for the fans waiting for your reissue that "Stairway To Heaven" is 1st on the A side. Minds remember it as it was, not as the band might have imagined. And, yeah - the gapless tracks were groundbreaking art on the part of the engineers. That's all that kept it from getting 5 stars.
Otherwise, the remaster sparkles and the sound is head and shoulders over what I expected. If you've been missing this from your Chappo collection, you are now rewarded. It's an absolute must for the collector. I feel that the sound is superior to any remaster I have heard of later Streetwalkers material.
