This little booklet is suitable for yound children who are beginning to write their first words. On every page only 3 or 4 words need to be found, so little children with a short attention span aren't scared off. Also the size of the book is quite handy for little hands. All in all a good buy.

This is a very nice little first book of crosswords. I bought it for my 4.5yr old daughter and she loved it. It was exactly the right size for her to handle and use independently.
There are 25 crosswords which come with picture clues. The clues are numbered sequentially (so no 'across' and 'down' aspect to complicate matters). Each crossword is 4 made up of words, one of which is pre-filled in.
The words are all things that small children should be familiar with, however because it is an American book it the answer to one of the clues was 'candy' (rather than 'sweets') which was a word my daughter was not familiar with.
After the crosswords have been completed it can be used as a colouring book.
Lastly, there are solutions at the back, should you need them!

Useful resource to get children writing and thinking about spelling. Slightly irritating that there is already a word filled in in each puzzle (would have been enough to do just the first puzzle to show children the idea) and that the word is capitalised.
