Gripped from the first chapter, I only put it down twice and didn't want it to end. Totally unique plot about a brother and sister getting lost in the jungle. Woodrow really brings the locations alive. Lots of thrills and spills but the research means it always stays believable. I loved Double Cross and this is just as good, if not better. (Hopefully we won't have to wait so long for his next book). If you like thrillers but want something a bit different, give this a try.

Couldn't put it down 13 Jan 2010
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Fantastic page turning book. It transported me from place to place giving excellent description and was clearly fantastically researched.

I found it very difficult to put down, as each chapter lead to me wanting more.

Sorry it had to end and I look forward ot the next Woodrow as soon as possible.

A barnstorming follow up to Double Cross from Patrick Woodrow, which I read on holiday in 2 days. I wish I could have made First Contact last more than one! A real page turner in the Clive Cussler style: great locations, unpredictable secret that some of the characters will kill for and a believable 'ordinary guy' hero. This is a brilliant winter warmer for when you are snowed in, but if you miss it then, get it for your next holiday read...it will be finsished before you get off the plane.

This is the second in what looks like a developing series - first oceans, this one in the jungle...we are lucky that Woodrow has many more corners of the world to set up his cracking stories. Can't wait!

Best picked up at a station or airport bookshop, as it is a novel you'd probably be happy to take, say on holiday, or to read to pass the time on a long journey. Read more

Adventure Woodrow
Another slick thriller from Mr Woodrow with more accomplished characterisation and plotting than Double Cross, whilst having lost none of the drama or excitement of his debut. Read more
