A missed opportunity 31 Dec 2008
Format:Hardcover
The blurb promised so much but I found this almost unreadable as it written not in the first person, but as if you, the reader, are reminiscing personally about your own life. It is virtually like putting words into the reader's mouth and as I disgreed with some of the author's philosophies I found this really began to grate. I agree with the other reviewer that one expects more of 'manual' - that's certainly what you would think from reading the publishers' website. The author has obviously has an interesting and inspiring life but has really missed an opportunity to produce an good book about it.

A very interesting read but not full of the practical know-how which I was expecting. The author came across as being very bitter about her life and the 'story' seemed to jump around quite a bit. Not really something you can dip into for advice every now and then.

How to cheat 17 Nov 2009
Format:Hardcover
I really dont like it when the publisher gives its own product 5 stars. The views of the people that took the trouble to review the book honestly, should not be usurped by a cynical wingeing publisher. 'The Secret Life of Cows ' is good, THIS IS'NT! get over it, and write something that tells people how to buy a field and establish a smallholding, including how to deal with planners. Now that would be a BOOK!
