This is a great board book for little hands, with pretty illustrations for your own enjoyment. It certainly looks better on the coffee table than some of its counterparts!

My sixteen-month-old seems to enjoy this one, and entertains us by pointing out the words she knows. The range of vocabulary used is fairly well-pitched at the under threes, sticking mainly to things they would be familiar with from one source or another, while providing a touch of variety from the usual selections.

If you're looking for more of a keepsake alphabet reader and Alain Grée's artwork appeals to you, go for his Alphabet instead. Some of the pictures are the same in both books (bus, bee...), but in the main they vary.
