I am 31 year old beginner. I couldn't read music at all. The book looks like it is laid out for children with jolly little characters dotting each page with hints and tips, but although the format is young, it is an easy way to quickly learn how to read music. The practice tunes are fun and as they became more complex I found that I could keep up. I recommend this to anyone starting with their first keyboard.

Bought this alongside a keyboard for son's 7th birthday. He really loves the book and tries to play from it... there is alot of information on each page which can be almost distracting but he has even taken to reading it at bedtime so must be processing something!!!!

A great book for a beginner on a keyboard. Cartoon figures explain the basics beautifully and there are some practice tunes to learn at the end of the book. I bought it for my 10 year old daughter and although she hasn't read it cover to cover, she is reading the bits that are relevant to her as she finds out more about the keyboard she got for Christmas.
