It has been reported that 40% of home fires start in the kitchen. The First Alert kitchen fire blanket is a great way to keep safe when cooking, helping contain and put out household fires like those started in chip pans and waste bins. The First Alert Fire Blanket consists of 200 gm/m2 glass fibre with 35 gm/m2 coating of silicon rubber to give good drapability. It is fitted with flame proof handles attached by Kevlar thread for extra strength. This should make it simple to drape over a fire and starve it of oxygen, causing it to go out without setting the blanket alight.
It is the perfect safety item to keep close at hand in the kitchen, garage or next to the barbecue. Easy to install and maintain, with its wipe-clean plastic cover, it can become an important part of your kitchen or garage equipment.
