when my daughter changed from desktop to laptop we realised (after we'd bought it) that we couldn't connect her camcorder to the laptop.I read various blogs and reviews and decided to give this a go as it seemed the cheapest option available. Fantastic! so easy - just slot it in and off you go. Recommend it highly,definitely worth it. We just have it in the slot when she's using it and then store it when she's not, as it's a bit unwieldy to have connected to the laptop all the time.

Using this in my expresscard 54 slot, it fits snugly without a problem; installed its driver automatically, and is stable on restart.

The card arrived in a timely fashion. It fits easily into the spare laptop slot and Windows 7 recognised it immediately; it works!

Needs external power source
I thought this was a bit pricy for something lacking even a brand name. For mac users: note that you'll need to plug in an adapter (12V, 1.0A external power supply).

Works an absolute treat!
Plug and play - couldn't be simpler. I'm a total ludite and I had no problem with this item. You just bung it in the slot and the drivers sort themselves out. Perfect.
