I bought this 'visions of tranquility blu ray' for some ambience in the lounge as we dont have a fire place (like most houses these days - the TV becoming the focal point of living rooms!).
It's OK. There are four "different" fire places - Eternal flame, Romantic, The complete and Extraordinary. You can play any of these along with 1 of 3 soundtracks - classical, crackling fire, christmas. The music isnt that good, peculiar instrument choice. Best is crackling fire.
It appears to me as if only the romantic fireplace is footage of an actual fire. The rest appear to be animated somehow. They may not be but the logs and fire grate really do look CGI. Also, the fire is very close - missing the tops of the flames. On a massive TV it may appear to outsiders that your home is on fire!
In summary, the blu ray is nice to have on in the background but it is not excellent. I am sure there will be a better one at some point.

As lame as things like this might sound, I liked the idea. For people without fireplaces at home but like the sound and glow of a fire, its about as close as you can get.
My only complaint is that the selection of fire options are very small, the videos aren't long enough and the quality isn't 1080p - its probably somewhere between a very good DVD encoding or 720p.

if your blu ray player is a ps3 DO NOT buy this it will not work only get an error message

Work's Ok
I ordered this on 14th April and it works fine on my ps3 60 GB either they have stated to send out the replacement disc or it's the 40 GB not being Backwards compatible.

Works on my PS3 just fine
Nothing wrong with it at all - perhaps apart from the cheesy music. Get what you pay for I suppose. Was nice for some visual & audio background at Christmas.

It Don't Work
