Product Description

"Hot Down Under" is written by Susan Lyons - Australian men are just plain sexy. And Mick Donovan, Australian firefighter, has to be the sexiest of them all. Tash McKendrick is far from home and ready to party in the Land Down Under. Sex on the beach. Sex in the air. Mick knows just how to rock her world...all night long. "All Fired Up" is written by P. J. Mellor - Firefighter Nick Howard transferred from Houston to a tiny Texas town expecting peace and quiet...not a steamy tryst with the unbelievably sexy Tricia Lundsford. Their bedroom chemistry is combustible, and every mind-blowing encounter has Nick fantasizing about the next..."Fighting Fire" is written by Alyssa Brooks - Fire Chief Brent Sommers is stopped by The Lucky Hart to safety-check the place. Just his luck that Carmen Harte, the club's new owner and his former flame, is looking dangerously beautiful. And when a faulty door latch leaves them locked in Carmen's office for hours, there's only one way to pass the time - surrendering to burning lust...

Anthologies are tricky to rate, how to balance several seperate stories?

Hot Down Under by Susan Lyons is fabulous, same as everything she has written. Author admits this story is written in an unusual tense, not bad just different. This novella takes place in Australia, is emotionally moving, and very hot. This story alone is worth purchasing the book.

PJ Mellor's heroine was totally unattractive to me, klutzy, embarrassed, and pathetic. I don't remember an upside to the story, which continued from bad to worse.

The novella contribution by Allysa Brooks is my favorite example of authors who should not write sex scenes about acts which they are obviously unfamiliar. IMO these are varying degrees of unlikely, uncomfortable, or impossible (ie can a peeled banana be used as a dildo? And is this totally gross?). Please try it yourself or at least perform adequate research before attempting to describe erotic or kinky sex, otherwise it reads like Jr. High hormone induced fantasy.

A big disappointment 8 Jun 2008
By Crystal Kay - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
As a whole, this anthology was a huge disappointment! The first story "Hot Down Under" by Susan Lyons was by far the best of a bad lot. The story was well rounded, with some good sex scenes, and likable characters. "All Fired Up" by P.J. Mellor, was a bit hard to take. Nothing that happened in the story was feasable, and way to cheesy. And "Fighting Fires" by Alyssa Brooks...well, I couldn't even finish it, it was so bad! No story line what so ever...just sex. I understand that this is erotica, but at least give me something to build on.

Nothing more was needed to be known before I bought this book. It was a good book to read.
