5.0 out of 5 stars buy it, its HILARIOUS!! 30 Dec. 2009
By Tess
Format:Hardcover
This book is hysterical! As is the first book 'Doctor Ted' by the same author. My 4 year old son and I got 'Doctor Ted' out of our library and had to buy as we both loved it so much and he couldn't bear to just give it back! Some of the lines in both of these books will have you falling about - and as anyone who reads many, many bedtime stories knows, it is always lovely to be reading books you adore as well, rather than being forced to read hideous noddy books or other trot that makes your teeth grind. Buy both of these, you'll have a reet laugh, as will your kids - job done!

5.0 out of 5 stars We love the 'Ted' series 1 Sept. 2012
By S Price
Format:Hardcover
After borrowing doctor Ted from the library, we had to buy that brilliant book and that led me and my 6 year old son to search for firefighter Ted. Firefighter Ted is even funnier than doctor Ted in my son's opinion. I'm not sure who enjoyed the book more, me or him! Anyway firefighter Ted arrived today we read it 3 times straight away and have just ordered artist Ted. Can't wait. Andrea Beaty is a brilliant children's book writer, on a level with Julia Donaldson of Gruffalo fame.

4.0 out of 5 stars A MAKE BELIEVE STORY WITH A LESSON 17 Sept. 2009
By Gail Cooke - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
Andrea Beaty has a winning way about her - not only does she pen attention getting, smile provoking books for young readers but these books also teach valuable lessons. Her creation, Ted, a very helpful litttle bear, was last seen as Doctor Ted. Now, he comes to the rescue as Firefighter Ted.

It all begins when he awakens one morning to smell smoke. He searches everywhere for a firefighter but there isn't one to be found. Well, what's a very helpful bear to do? He has no choice but to become a firefighter himself!

Fortunately, he did have a fire truck but not a fire extinguisher, so he made one and then dashed off in the direction of the smokey smell. Of all things it turned out to be coming from his breakfast toast. Ted immediately took control of the situation, shouting "Stand back" sprayed the smoking toast, and helped his mother to safety Needless to say his mother was very happy to send him off to school.

However, Principal Bigram wasn't too glad to see Ted as he was late, which caused the portly principal to overheat. You can imagine what a diligent firefighter might do in that case or at the school science fair.

Pascal Lemaitre who illustrated Doctor Ted brings us the ginger snap faced Ted in bold primary colors. His illustrations are cut-out clean and energetic as he captures the characters moods with a lift of an eyebrow or wide eyed surprise.
Of course, as young readers enjoy Ted's latest adventure they'll also be reminded of the importance of fire prevention and how fortunate we are to have firefighters who are dedicated to keeping us safe.

Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Quite a good book 30 Dec. 2012
By Kurt A. Johnson - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
"One morning Ted woke up and sniffed the air. It smelled like smoke. `That's not good,' thought Ted, `I need a firefighter!'" And the firefighter that Ted needs is none other than Firefighter Ted!

This book is part of a two book series (dare I hope that there are more on the way?) that feature a very imaginative young bear named Ted. In this adventure Ted become a firefighter, and his good-deed-doing soon causes consternation everywhere he goes!

This is a very cute book, and my second-grade reader really like Ted's silly adventures and misadventures! I found the text to be quite good, just challenging enough, and the illustration work to be equally good, keeping my little one interested and entertained. It's quite a good book, and my little reader and I both highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 Stars Are Not Enough, A Great Birthday Gift for the 2+ Year Old in Your Life 19 April 2013
By S. Roseberry - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
What a great story! We love all 3 Ted books and wish for more! Both my 6 and 3 year old love this story! Great for a boy or a girl, but the perfect story for your little fireman! I had to buy my 3 year old son fireman rain boots, now he dresses up in his boots and hat and walks around the house saying Fire Ted (He is non-verbal and autistic and anything to get him to speak gets our vote... he is also starting to request this story at bedtime).
Andrea Beaty, if you are reading this....WE NEED MORE TED!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Firefighter Ted 28 Mar. 2012
By Chris Curry - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
Outstanding, excellent - or whatever term you want to use! This is a keeper! Love the book! My 5 yo loves this and Doctor Ted. I highly recommend both books! My 22 yo son works in a bookstore. He enjoys reading this to the 5 yo so much, that he has recommend this book (and the series) to several customers. Now when you can get both a 5 yo and a 22 yo excitied about a book (not to mention the parents), you have achieved something!

5.0 out of 5 stars My 2 year old's favorite book 21 Jan. 2014
By Erica C. Zenzer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
My 2 year old daughter would cry every time we had to return Firefighter Ted to our local Library so I decided that Santa should bring her her very own copy for Christmas. The best decision ever. Now we can read the book when ever she wants (which is at least twice a week). She loves how silly Ted is but how even little Ted can save the day at the end. A great book for kids who love firefighters.
