If you want a hero who isn't middle class (yes, Harry and Alex Rider, I'm talking about you!) then this is the one for you. Ticks all the boxes, conspiracy theories, ethnic minority hero (he lives in a trailer), strong, stroppy girl to argue with. I loved it! But its not for the faint hearted. Pretty nail biting stuff towards the end, there.

Oh my god, this is better than the first one. Some of it scared me to death. Freedom Smith is an extraordinary hero. He is a gypsy boy but he has inherited the Hercules gene from his great great grandfather. I can't say any more just read the book. It's amazing.
the first book is fightgame, it explains the background, but you can read this one with out reading book one.

I work with travellers so it's great to see a gypsy hero and a pretty engaging and attractive one, too. Also the story is riproaring, and the on off romance between Freedom Smith and Java is a joy. Thoroughly enjoyed this. Good to read something out of the ordinary. I agree with all the above reviewers as well. I feel I've found something just that little bit off the beaten track. I'm off to read the first book in the series. If the author is around - are there more to come?
