Product Description

Review

An interesting guidance document that building managers and other building professionals will no doubt find useful. Importantly, the emphasis of this book is always on the practical application of what can be quite a complicated and confusing mixture of rules and best practice; and it s pleasing to see that the author has tried hard to remove as much jargon and unnecessary technical detail as possible. Good advice is provided based upon common sense. All in all, this publication achieved a good balance between what could easily become a heavy technical guide and something altogether too light and simplistic, It will be a useful aid to anyone with a responsibility for fire safety in buildings. --Ian Gough MIFireE MBEng, Building Engineer Magazine

If you work in fire safety, or are just looking to expand your knowledge in this area, then this book is perfect for you. Rarely will you find just about all the relevant information that you require, in one place, written and presented in such a clear and concise manner. Very impressed with what the author has done here. People have previously tried to wrap this difficult topic up into one book; I don't think many have done it better.

A great read - a wealth of information from a knowledgeable and seasoned fire officer.
For those who need a little help in self compliance with the radical new fire legislation in G. Britain and N. Ireland or those larger organisations who need a more indepth knowledge. You can use the book in its entireity or just delve in the chapters appropriate to your needs.
This book explains clearly the new legislation, to whom and where it applies, and what need to be done to ensure compliance.
More importantly it stresses the benefits of a 'fire safe' premises i.e. life safety, property protection and business continuity.
