Product Description

Rayne is still enjoying life at remote Morton's Keep, an escape from the city life she hated so much. But there are hints of something creepy and out of kilter still in the house, especially when a mysterious new housekeeper takes over. Then - suddenly and shckingly - a violent murder occurs on the outskirts of Marcle Lees, and Rayne's life is turned upside down all over again...

Fire and Rayne takes up almost exactly where Possessing Rayne left off, and is proof that sequels can be just as good, if not better than the first book. In this case I think the sequel is even better.

Rayne is still living at Morton's Keep in the countryside, away from the hectic city life of noise, crime, and claustrophobia she loathed. But a glamorous new manager has turned up at Morton's Keep and is about to change everything by capitalising on the place's gruesome history. It's enough to tip the balance and unleash the dark powers that have been simmering under the surface for so long, and now Rayne is key in putting a stop to it.

One of the best aspects of the book for me is the way Rayne really embraces the wildness and nature of Morton's Keep. Despite the evil that has taken place there I really wanted to be there with her and experience the woods and the grounds for myself.

Kate Cann has a knack for supernatural, gothic stories that really ring true. I'm eagerly awaiting her next!

I've been a Kate Cann fan for too long to remember, she has inspired me to write and capitivated me with her stories for years, so I never turn down the chance to read her work. This book is stunning, I felt every bit of the fear as it builds. If you read possesing Rayne you'll know what I'm talking about, this book carries on what the first book started and gives you so much more, with a few surprises. I loved it!
Kate Cann is awsome and her books are too! If you love a good spooky read or are a fan of the Twilight saga you have to read this book.

A Kids Review 1 Aug 2011
I never really read books, but I simpley couldn't put this one down. It has 53 chapters, so it took me a couple of months to read. But it was definatly worth it!
This book is a mesterious, spine-tingling story. About a girl who thinks she is just here to work in a tea shop. But she soon gets wrapped up in the true power, and sinister meaning of The Manor.
Especially when her boss hires a new manger. Everyone around Rayne realises she's needed, she just won't let herself realise it!

I'd recommend this book to ages from 13-16. This book contains violence, and bad language in some places. So it is probebly not one to read your kids at bed time!
