With this music you feel as if you walked in to some southern baptist church in the 1940s. It is heartfelt with no self-consciousness about it. The sound quality is sometimes rough as you would expect, but only distractingly noticable a couple times. The selection is wide and varied, from single performers to sophisticatedly harmonising groups. On most tracks the music is definately good. On all tracks the power and immediacy of the emotion is enveloping. It was what I was looking for, it was better than I was hoping for, and even better than I expected. If you are looking for raw gospel music that is competent and enjoyable, this is it.
