"Geoffrey Archer has again used his ITN experience in a sinuous mix of international threats that are coming to have the same chill-factor as the fear that underpinned the best Cold War thrillers." "-- Daily Telegraph"

4.0 out of 5 stars Fire Hawk- an explosive read, 18 April 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Fire Hawk (Paperback)
Fire Hawk literally is an 'explosive' read, taking the reader on a roller coaster ride throughout the dark and gloomy boulevards of Ukraine, through the sweaty boardrooms of the J. Edgar Hoover building, and the M16 building in London. The plot in a nutshell is this: Iraqis are smuggling biological warfare agents from Ukraine, to Iraq and over to the USA. M16 has known about this for some time, and they have informed the appropriate people about this. But, you would have thought the Iraqis would want to launch an attack against the USA because of what they have done to Iraq. No. That is the main thing that makes this book such a special read: the twists, turns, and good aspects of an espionage thriller. In fact, the Iraqis really do not like the spies and the dictators that were just too bad in their towns. So, they needed America to do something, and if they jogged the USA's eyes by launching an attack on them, the USA could get the bad aspect of Iraq out, and they would live well. But, it does not go as smoothly as that. Wait and see to find out more- you'll never put the book down.
