By RoCoco
Format:Audio CD
This, the first disc of the fine Argentinian composer Silvina Milstein is a passport to a world of ravishing sounds, complex at first hearing but gradually revealing their beauties, pulsating with life, rich is sensuous nuance.

These are exemplary performances by the group Lontano under Odaline de la Martinez: the rich sound worlds are unerringly explored and articulated with immense skill and refinement, as is the solo violin playing of Caroline Balding in two solo pieces, which it must be said, act as a sonorous palate-cleanser, but also reveal Milstein's work to be at heart melodicaly based. A most rewarding issue, one to play again and again.
