Review
Fiona Fullerton's fame as an actress (notably as a Bond girl) has now been far outreached by her new position as a guru in the house buying and selling market. Her 20 years of experience in this stressful field has given her a wealth of invaluable knowledge, and the multitude of tips, invaluable advice and sheer good sense in this volume will make it a first port of call for many about to undertake this daunting experience. In an accessible and unpatronising style, Fullerton covers every aspect that the buyer/seller might need to know: locating a property, working out realistic budgets, negotiating the minefield of surveys and valuations, and (crucially) dealing with solicitors and estate agents. The basics are also not neglected: what to look for (and what to avoid) in a property, negotiating the best price and surviving the trauma of moving day. The housing market may be in a permanent state of fluctuation, but most of us have to tackle these issues at some time or other, and Fullerton is the friend we need to make it as painless as possible. Those who have seen her on TV's The Property Show or read her first book, How to Make Money from Your Property, will already be aware of the value of her advice, and while various guides may cover the topics included here, few bring together quite as many strands of useful information. If the stress of moving house is looming over you, here's the way to get thorough it with confidence. (Kirkus UK)
