I recently moved and this book was a great help. Lots of practical sensible advice, and some interesting case studies. My only criticism is the lack of information about what happens after the offers are made and accepted - what your solicitor will do, who to chase up, what will happen on the day itself. But overall, very good.

I am a first time buyer and really didn't know where to begin. This book really put me at ease. It has lots of checklists and sensible things to look out for. The writing style is really good and makes a daunting subject actually enjoyable.

My only criticism is that the book is sometimes lacking detail, but there is plenty of advice on where to get more information.

On the whole, I am very happy with this book.

Everything you'll ever need to know - written as though your best friend was advising you. Very simply laid out and easy to pick and chose subjects. Offers alternatives to 'tried and tested' and advises on how to get the best agent etc.
