Downloaded this for free from Amazon as I had heard the name June Tabor and knew she had a great reputation as a folk singer. It is truely beautiful and atmospheric and transports you to the banks of a scottish loch or a rocky coast where you can just picture her staring out as she sings at the unforgiving sea. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album, where she also sings a cover of Elvis Costello's 'Shipbuilding'. But on it's own this is simply fabulous!

A haunting and mellifluous version of an Ian Telfer song (of the truly magnificent Oysterband) which June also sang with the Oysterband on the Freedom and Rain album - a very different but also beautiful rendition. Lovers of folk and gentle ballads will really appreciate this, as will those who value subtle arrangements and fine lyrics. And the voice... there is no voice like June Tabor's. Just wonderful!

a lovely haunting piece of music which really makes you feel as if you are looking out over the finisterre (ends of the earth)
