This is more than worth it for the CD alone which is a superb compilation of beautiful and challenging guitar pieces. The book contains full transcriptions of all the pieces and has something for all intermediate and advanced guitarists. Once you have listened to the CD several times select the piece you want to learn to play and you will add a piece to your repertoire that your friends will admire and enjoy. There are five pieces in this book that I wanted to learn and am still working on three of them almost a year later!

Whilst the pieces in this book are certainly challenging enough for even a seasoned fingerpicker, I don't feel they represent the best work of some of the artists featured. Perhaps my expectations were a little high, but I was left feeling that there are a few of the tracks that I'm simply not interested in learning because they're just not that good (the Duck Baker piece in particular). That said, there are some cracking pieces in this book that make it worth the price alone and as any review is subjective I'm sure that there are people who would disagree with my opinion (it's just my opinion after all).

This is of little use to the beginner, but with a little experience and dedication the songs in here are fantastic and if asked to play in front of friends, at a party or more, any of these would more than impress.

Technically, as it's all acoustic, it is not too demanding. It is the finger positions, the smooth transitions and phrasing that will make or the break the song, and all that requires is practise.

From a song selection point of view, the genres covered are wide. So upon listening to the CD only a few stood out for me. With further listening they all offer something unique and I want to learn everyone!

This is number 5 in the series, I'm just about to buy another one from this range.

Two Thumbs up.
