About the Author

A much sought-after speaker, Eric hosts workshops and presentations throughout Ireland. Michael O'Clery is one of Ireland's best-known wildlife artists with paintings and illustrations appearing in a variety of books and journals worldwide. Over 600 of his paintings were published in the best-selling Complete Guide to Ireland's Birds and he has had several solo exhibitions. He lives in County Kerry where he also documents the local birdlife through bird reports and breeding bird surveys

This is a beautiful book and an excellent guide to birding all over Ireland at any time of year. The maps are very good providing plenty of detail and good directions, as well as expected and rare species and includes a full Irish List in the back along with a seawatching site map. I'm very pleased with this book. It really replaces the only other main Ireland Guide published by Helm, which is now outdated and dull, when compared to this new title.
