From the Author
The inside story of Valpo's magical basketball journeyValparaiso University captured the nation's attention during the 1998 NCAA basketball tournament. Yet, few outside of Indiana know of the long journey prior to the dramatic March run. Through this collaboration with Valpo head coach Homer Drew and Rob Rains, the entire story of this incredible team is captured. Readers will be taken into the locker room to get an inside perspective on Coach Drew's philosophies, anecdotes and motivation, in addition to the players' thoughts during a dramatic, roller-coaster season. Many people know that Valpo's story is one of a father (Homer Drew) and his sons (assistant coach Scott Drew and star guard Bryce Drew), and that's certainly true. However, "Find A Way" shows that it's also a story about a special group of young people who wouldn't give up on a dream. It's a story about a community and university dreaming (and cheering) right along with them. More importantly, it's a story of some of the lessons learned along the way -- lessons that can transcend sport.
