5.0 out of 5 stars Probably the best starter book of its kind, 2 Jul 2009
By A. J. Naqvi (London) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Having bought a couple of books on startinig a business, I either found them too basic and patronising, too American or simply not helpful but this book is excellent. It gives lots of highly useful advice especially on finance, tax and how to approach taking an income and the tax implications. As it's updated annually it's very up to date and has proven invaluable to me. If nothing else, it will help you ask the right questions and point you in all the right directions. Overall, the best book of its kind.

5.0 out of 5 stars Check it out - this sets the benchmark amongst similar titles, 1 May 2009
By Michael Lane "Finding Your Future" (Hampshire UK) - See all my reviews

Prentice Hall and the FT seek to set the gold standard and this helpful and accessible volume succeeds. It is a useful aide memoire for the skilled practitioner and a supportive resource for the newcomer that gives the basics and then allows deeper engagement too. It should be possible to tell if this is for you with a quick skim - and I suspect for many it will be in the basket and adding value to your business life very quickly.

Actually this book is good, it makes sense!! Which is more than can be said for most! I actually coped with this quite well and it's full of little tips. Well worthwhile.
