Format:Paperback
The author states "---chapters were distilled from postgraduate and executive teaching materials---". In places the book has a feel of being based on notes. It would not be a good single source; its value is as a supplement to a standard text on the subject, for above average students (the author takes no prisoners, Black-Scholes option pricing by page 60!). For anyone wishing to go beyond basic ideas without excessive mathematics, this book offers more insights than found in standard books.
