I have just passed all my chartered accountancy exams so my knowledge should be way above the standard of this book. But I find this book invaluable because it explains the background behind the standards. My exam books were only focused practical questions and teaching you how to do the calculations with no explanations or exploration of the underlying issue and controversies surrounding developement of accounting standards. But this book fills that gap in my knowledge. I am find my understanding of accountancy had been greatly enhanced by this book.

Even if you have qualified you should by this book.

I have now had additional updates from the publishers support team and have just been told that the answers will be available on the authors website soon.

I have therefore updated my review to reflect the fact that the book content and format are excellent.

I have also used the MyAccountingLab system and think some of this is very useful too.

I would have given the book 5 stars but for the fact that the MyAccountingLab access is limited to 1 year.

As I need this book for two years, if I decide to continue to use the labs, I will have to buy an additional subscription :(

This book is well written and fairly easy to understand, so it is a rather useful text to help the university student through the exams.
