Very good guide and good value for money. Highly recommended. Covers the fundamentals and the basic principals of Finance in a clear and simplified way, without being too numerical. Money well spent!

I bought this as a possible recommendation to students; I teach a course Finance for Non-Fin-Managers on an MBA programme.I cannot see how reading this book would help my students. It is inaccurate in many important places (even allowing for its non-specialist nature) and just plain wrong in others. It explains very little. Anyone who reads this book and feels s/he has moved from ignorance to enlightenment has probably moved only to blissful ignorance!(I mean no offence to those who read it and thought it helpful)

Finance for Non-financial Managers IN A Week by Roger Mason is by the Chartered Management Institute with each chapter covering one day of the week (have they never heard of a day of rest?).

It's not the easiest of books to read, but it is about finances, so can hardly be expected. The book covers profit statement, costs, debt, depreciation, fixed assets, debit and credit, working capital, cash flow, stock turn, investments, working capital, debtors, creditors, break even charts, sales budget ad a few other items.

And a few illustrations to lighten the mood which is not the easiest of reads, but nonetheless is helpful in areas.
