If you have not yet heard Caetano Veloso, this is a great place to start. His beautiful songs and vocals are simply gorgeous. If you enjoy gentle bossanova rhythms combined with a soft, gentle and emotionally resonant voice, go for this.

I bought this album a few months ago on the strength of one song and it has been constantly played ever since.This man has a beautiful voice and although I don't understand many of the lyrics the feeling and emotion of each song comes across. If you get the chance listen to Tonada de Luna Llena it will make the hairs stand up on your neck.

Caetano Veloso's voice at its best! 9 Jan 2001

Caetano Veloso is really one of the best singers in the world. On this album you can really enjoy his exceptional voice. The songs are entertaining, and production makes couple of them maybe too entertaining for my taste, but when we remember that some of the songs date back to 30's that is not a surprise. These songs are all well known classics (for example Vuelvo al Sur by Piazzolla) and Veloso has really made great interpretations of them. He really uses his voice beautifully. Great album!
