A fine collection of classic Hammer Horror. The Horror of Dracula is the best one, the rest are pretty good films aswell, Dracula 1972 was a blast lol.

4 Dracula movies on this affordable box set. Mostly for fans who are either getting back into Hammers take on Dracula or simply to save space. You do get 4 individual discs here but they are all neatly tucked away in a single DVD case.

Horror of Dracula was the first Hammer Dracula movie and is a bonafide classic- much better than Universal's original- and one of the best Dracula movies out there. Sure it drifts from the orignal Bram Stoker book and it may feel tame compared to what we have today. But it's still classic horror which has been directed well and stars the acting greats, Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing.

Next up if we are following order is Dracula Has Risen from the Grave- this is actually the 4th Dracula movie- and personally one of the best. Flowing story, Lee is partically evil and angry in this one and some great characters. Excellent movie. This is followed on the set with Taste the Blood of Dracula which is handy given that this is the 5th Dracula movie and a direct follow on in story terms to Risen. This is another great Dracula movie, though not as good as the previous one. Finally we have the difficult Dracula AD 72- which brings the Count to 70s London, though Lee stays in a disused church for the whole movie. Bad music and bad story- but we do get the return of Peter Cushing. This was in fact the 7th movie.

So just so you know this set contains Dracula Part 1, 4, 5 and 7. That may seem odd but actually most of the franchise did not continue with how the other movie left off apart from 4 and 5- so even if you get this without seeing the other movies it won't damage your experience. Two are classics, one is very good and one is a bore. A good box set to have if you need these movies.

This is an excellent 4 movie value set from Warner Brothers. Although it's a cheap set - don't be fooled into thinking the quality is impaired in any way. These are simply a repackaging of the separate movies into a 4 pack set. All movie's are in anamorphic widescreen with great picture quality. These films are released separately here in the U.K, so if you have a multi-region DVD player and want to save a few quid then this is a no brainer. The only disappointment, and this is just a minor niggle for me, is that i'd have liked to have seen "The satanic rites of dracula" included as it's a direct follow up to "Dracula 72ad" also the discs themselves are double sided, with 2 films on each disc, unfortunately because of this there is no label to identify each movie.

1. Dracula (aka Horror of Dracula) 8.5/10
2. Dracula has risen from the grave 7.5/10
3. Taste the blood of Dracula 7.5/10
4. Dracula AD1972 8/10
