This cable is indeed the correct line out for sony walkman mp3 player but a word of warning to those using the S series, the fiio e7 does not improve sound quality on this mp3 player.I am using the sony S765 and i bought this cable to connect a fiio e7 for even better sound quality but i noticed no difference at all and with further investigation i learned that the internal amp of the sony walkman is too good for the fiio e7 to make any difference to the sound.I find this point to be spot on at least
as far as the S series is concerned.All the fiio e7 will do is boost volume unless you are using headphones which may need the extra power the fiio can provide to make them worth while

This cable does a great job considering its low price. It's a little on the short side and by itself would not reach your lap if it was plugged into the cars stereo and you were in the passenger seat. As a result I purchased a 1 metre extension cable for it and they work perfectly together.

This product works really well, the only thing is it's really short so it has to lie backwards and a bit awkward to change songs when driving.
