Product Description

The FiiO E17 and the L9 cable in one bundle. You asked for it - AVshop delivers.
Enjoy.

FiiO E17 INFO: The FiiO E17 Alpen portable headphone amplifier with USB audio decoder (DAC) is designed for dual-functionality. The E17 Alpen both replaces PC on-board sound cards as the primary audio decoder which can lead to an increase in audio quality as well as provide high quality sound amplification and drive high-powered high-end headphones. The E17 Alpen supports different inputs including optical and coaxial. The E17 Alpen is a step up from the older FiiO E7 providing a wider support for various input devices as well as overall more functionality and control. The E17 Alpen was built to be a much more complete product than the E10. The most significant addition was the ability for it to serve as a portable headphone amplifier. With batteries built into the Alpen you can unplug it from USB and take it for a spin together with your iPod. In addition to that they also added features such as coaxial and toslink digital inputs. The Alpen is the successor to the E7 and there are great improvements on aspects other than just the sound.

Great product that was works very well and is pleasing to the eye and touch. Very rugged construction with the all metal casing. Quality gold plated connectors and bright clean display finishes off nicely.

As a DAC. Works great. Have used both USB and Optical inputs with great outcomes. 32bit audio sounds sweet.

As a headphone amp. Again works fab. Use it on some daily basis with my Sennheiser HD 25-1 II's with a great sounding outcome. I've always left the gain at 0db and the sound is very clean. Has more than enough power even with gain so low. Never go over 50/60. Big cans shouldn't have a problem here. EQ adds a little shine to the sound for those who like some more punch.

So whatever your primary use for the E17 I highly doubt you'd be disappointed. Great sounding product in a well made and attractive package. Dare I say it but audiophile like quality on the move. Happy days.

Wow, what have I been missing all these years with my in-ear headphones connected to my MacBook Pro/iPad/iPhone!! Connect this little gem and both the songs and headphones sound like they are a different quality altogether. And to blow me away completely I connected an optical cable (Ixos from Amazon) to my MacBook Pro into the spdif connector on the E17, this is another step up in quality again!
It's very well built and is a steal at £99. I was so impressed I decided to go all out on a pair of higher impedance full over-ear headphones (AKG Q701's) which my Apple gear wouldn't have the power drive. I am now in audio heaven playing full lossless from iTunes on these amazing phones through my amazing E17. Even without optical on the iPad it is awesome. Can't recommend this little powerhouse highly enough!

Very pleased with this little Amp (and DAC). It provides good batterylife and has a low noise, even when powered by USB. It can drive most headphones with ease; i use it with a pair of Sennheiser IE80 in ear monitors. When using it with a laptop or pc it doesn't require you to install a driver, Windows automatically detects it as a soundcard. Sound quality is fine; maybe not best in class but certainly value for money. For the price, the build quality is outstanding.

Bought this originally to bypass the amp in my iPod and give extra power for my 80 Ohm headphones. Now I tend to use it more for extracting digital audio from my laptop which sounds 100% better than the standard audio output. It has useful treble and bass controls and a limited balance control built in and has connections for digital USB, digital coax. optical, and a 3.5mm analogue input. It looks good as well with a nice textured anodised black finish which so far seems to be very durable. The L9 lead needs to be purchased separately if you want to connect to an iPods line out and therefore bypass its own amp, it can't however bypass an iPods own DAC.

Love it.Only received it yesterday(though seeing as it came from Germany within 4 days of order is amazing) and its a solid well built piece of kit.The sound is unbelievably good and well worth the investment. The extras included are a bonus,2 screen protectors, pouch, various connectors.Quality.
Simple to use and gives a much better audio experience with your MP3 or iPod player.Ive not tried it with my sennheiser in ear buds but with recently purchased Panasonic RP htx7 (which? Best Buy 2012) sound's pretty awesome.

I bought a pair of Sennheiser IE80 Earbuds and whilst they sounded good with my iPhone, I thought they could be better with an external DAC / Amp. After reading a number of reviews of the Fiio's, I settled on the E17. I'm pleased that I did so and the sound has improved considerably from my earbuds.

The build quality is good and the unit itself is easy to use. The bundled package with the LOD Cable is essential for use with any iDevice as it sounds much better with this rather than plugging into the headphone jack.

It's still not too big to carry around and fits in the inside chest pocket on my jacket along with the phone with no issues.

Overall sound quality is excellent and well worth the upgrade.
